New machine

Define tool mass, centre-of-gravity offset, mounting orientation, travel, speed and feedback. Include duty cycle and environment when selecting the guidance.

Replacement

Record the complete platform and model code, mounting, rod and crosshead arrangement, ports, threads and sensing. Keep machine photos or a tool drawing ready to share.

Choose bearing and rod layout
Start with TN / TR for twin rods or TCL / TCM for tri-rod guidance. TCL and TCM differ in bearing construction, so include duty cycle, load offset and environment.
Compare non-rotation tolerance by bore
Tolerance changes with bore and series. Use the bore-specific TN / TR or TCL / TCM values when tooling orientation matters.
Separate drive force from guide capacity
Thrust references describe axial force from effective piston area and pressure. They do not rate lateral load or moment. Provide tool mass, load centre and orientation for guide selection.
Confirm adjustment, threads and sensors
TN and TR provide retract-position adjustment. TR has PT, G and NPT ordering options; TN is listed with PT. Confirm the full port and switch arrangement.

Check the details.
Prepare the requirement.

Use the new-machine and replacement checklists alongside the selected guided-cylinder data.

Common questions.

How do TCL and TCM differ?

TCL uses linear bearings and TCM uses brass bearings. Their listed non-rotation tolerances differ by bore. Select with the load, duty cycle, motion and environment available.

Can I size a guided cylinder by thrust alone?

No. Select bore for axial force with an application margin, then check side load and moment independently. Guidance capacity is not established by the thrust table.

What does TN / TR retract adjustment do?

The listed retract-position adjustment is −5 to 0 mm. It adjusts the end position within that range and does not increase rated travel.

What should accompany a guided-cylinder enquiry?

Include platform, bore, stroke, port thread, load mass, centre-of-gravity offset, orientation, travel speed and feedback requirement. A tool drawing helps identify side load and clearance.

Bring the guided-cylinder
details together.

Record the platform, bore, stroke and thread. Add tool mass, centre-of-gravity offset, mounting orientation, required angular tolerance, speed, sensing, quantity and schedule.
