Manual control
valves.
Choose the operator action, then confirm the pneumatic symbol, return behaviour, working and exhaust ports, and mounting for the workstation.

Seven valve groups.
Five operator actions.
Compare foot pedal, hand lever, rotary, push-pull and inline slide operation. Then match the internal circuit, return behaviour and connections to the exact model.

4F Series
Foot-pedal 5/2 examples. Match the full operator action, lock or guard option and mounting to the workstation.
Shared pedal-range image; confirm the complete model and operator option.

3F / 3FM Series
3/2 normally closed pedal options. Compare the compact plastic 3FM and aluminium 3F constructions, ports and flow.
Shared pedal-range image; the pictured construction does not identify an exact 3FM model.

4H Series
Hand-lever 5/2 or 5/3 control. Specify the centre symbol, return action and separate working and exhaust ports.
4H210-08 sample shown; its nameplate applies to this pictured version.

4HV Series
Rotary 4/2 or 4/3 control. Match the rotation, circuit, mounting and retained-position or lock option.
Rotary range sample; confirm the selected mounting and operator configuration.

3L Series
Push-pull 3/2 control. Confirm the exact pneumatic symbol, port, flow and mounting for the selected model.
Shared push-pull range image depicts a 4L sample; confirm the actual 3L configuration.

4L Series
Push-pull 5/2 control. Compare working and exhaust ports separately, then check the current rating and mounting.
4L210-08 sample shown; confirm the selected model’s current datasheet and nameplate.

HSV Series
Inline 3/2 hand-slide control. Match connection size, male/female arrangement and the installation space.
Two range samples shown; connection arrangements and sizes depend on the selected version.
Choose the action.
Confirm the air path.
Start with how the operator uses the valve. Then specify ports and positions, the required state at rest and the return or retained action.
| Series | Operator / circuit | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| 4F Series | Foot pedal; 5/2 examples | Standard, L lock or F guard |
| 3F / 3FM Series | Foot pedal; 3/2 normally closed | Aluminium 3F or compact plastic 3FM |
| 4H Series | Hand lever; 5/2 or 5/3 | Centre symbol, return action and exhaust port |
| 4HV Series | Rotary; 4/2 or 4/3 | Rotation, mounting and retained position |
| 3L Series | Push-pull; 3/2 | Port and flow |
| 4L Series | Push-pull; 5/2 | Working/exhaust ports and mounting |
| HSV Series | Inline hand slide; 3/2 | Port and male/female thread arrangement |
The handle and series code do not establish the full pneumatic symbol or mounting fit. Confirm the selected circuit and operator option; a lock or guard option alone does not establish a machine safety function.

Plan the operator access.
Define the circuit response.
Leave room for the full operator stroke, fittings and service access. Confirm the pneumatic symbol, return action and current mounting drawing for the selected model.

New machine
State the required pneumatic symbol, rest or centre state, operator action and return or retained-position requirement. Add working and exhaust connections, air pressure and conditions, mounting space and operator clearance.
Replacement
Record the full code, current nameplate and symbol, operator and return action, working/exhaust threads and actual pressures. Include mounting dimensions and references for available photographs or drawings.
- Choose the operator action
- Decide between foot, lever, rotary, push-pull and slide operation. Check access, travel direction and clearance through the operator stroke.
- Define the pneumatic symbol
- State ports/positions, normal state where applicable and centre symbol for three-position versions. The handle appearance does not establish the internal air path.
- Specify return or retained position
- Include spring return, manual return or retained-position requirement. The 4F lock and guard suffixes identify separate options.
- Check working and exhaust ports
- Working and exhaust connections can have different sizes. Include both when matching fittings, silencers and an existing installation.
- Compare flow and mounting
- Give actuator size, travel speed, pressure and mounting dimensions. Compare the exact model row rather than applying a series maximum to all variants.

Questions before ordering.
Use the checklists with the selected model data, current nameplate and drawing. Keep the operator action and pneumatic circuit requirements together.
Common questions.
Which groups suit single-acting and double-acting circuits?
Compare 3/2 groups such as 3F / 3FM and 3L for single-acting circuits or pilot signals. Compare 5/2 groups such as 4F, 4H and 4L for double-acting cylinders. Confirm the actual symbol and required state at rest.
How do 3F and 3FM differ?
The selected 3F210 examples use aluminium pedals and aluminium-alloy bodies. The compact 3FM210-M5 uses a plastic pedal/body and M5 connection. Connection and flow data differ.
How do I specify a pedal lock or guard?
The 4F210-08L example includes a lock; 4F210-08F includes a guard. State operator action and the complete code, then check the option and mounting against the machine design.
Why show exhaust port sizes separately?
Several 4H and 4L models have smaller exhaust ports than working ports. Checking both helps match exhaust fittings and installation space.
What should I check when selecting an HSV slide valve?
Confirm the 3/2 flow function, connection size, male/female thread arrangement and installation space. If the application includes maintenance isolation or lockout, specify that requirement separately so the device and machine procedure can be assessed.
What helps identify a replacement?
Provide full model, symbol, port/thread, pressure, mounting dimensions and photographs. State whether the operator returns automatically or remains in position.
